About the role

Title – Security Officer

Pay Rate – £12.50 per hour

Location – Glasgow

Shift Timings – Day and nights/56 hours a week

 

We are looking for a security officer to be based in a professional corporate setting. This site deals with prestigious clientele, and so we are looking for someone that can deliver exceptional customer service to both staff and visitors. The right candidate must be confident in delivery an efficient front of house service, remaining polite and professional at all times. The main aspect of this role includes gatehouse duties, which involves checking visitors arriving into the site, completing registers and other checks .

 

Your main responsibilities may include:

  • To make sure building is locked and secured each night.
  • D check visitors, contractors and drivers arriving onsite, as well as issuing passes.
  • Respond to emergency situations (fire activation, first aid etc)
  • Site patrols where and when required, remaining alert at all times for suspicious activity.
  • Incident reporting/DOB.
  • Building checks prior to leaving.
  • To answer incoming calls and transferring to relevant departments.
  • Greet visitors/contractors warmly when arriving and exiting building.
  • Support in Facilities Department when required.
  • Assist with reception duties.
  • General Gatehouse duties.

To succeed in this role, you will need the following:

  • SIA License is essential.
  • Previous experience in a similar role is essential.
  • Basic knowledge of computers.
  • 5-year checkable work/career history.
  • Physically fit to undertake given tasks.
  • Possess the ability to work under pressure, prioritising workload and remaining well organised.
  • Communicate well and demonstrate a pleasant, polite, efficient, caring and friendly service to customers and clients in all areas of service.
  • Good customer service skills
  • The ability to work well as a team, or individually.
  • To be flexible and be able to respond where possible to holiday/sickness cover
