This position will be based in our Office in Edinburgh. This is a full time position in our Edinburgh team. The team works in the office 4 days per week.

The Role
Reporting to the Fund Control Manager, an opportunity has arisen within our Edinburgh team for someone with strong experience in private equity / private markets to join our business at an exciting phase of growth and expansion. Ultimately you will be responsible for the operational and accounting oversight across a number of Private Equity focused collective or segregated closed end funds and related vehicles. Key responsibilities will include:
- Mandate ownership: take ownership of an allocation of Private Equity mandates (predominantly UK based), which includes performing management account reviews, investor reporting oversight and ongoing timetables.
- Valuations: in conjunction with the wider GPMS team and our administrators, play a central role in the quarterly valuation process of the investments held by the mandates.
- Treasury: monitor cash balances for allocated mandates to ensure that optimal level of cash is held. Initiating and overseeing investor transactions when appropriate to action.
- Statutory and non-statutory financial statements: coordinate and review annual financial statements for limited partnerships and limited companies in accordance with prevailing regulations and standards.
- Mandate launches and liquidations: support the establishment of new mandates and co-ordinate the liquidation of existing mandate structures.
- Continuous improvement: identify opportunities for improvement and implement with buy-in from key stakeholders.
- Project initiatives: support internal and external stakeholders to address a range of requests and ongoing projects across GPMS.
- Ensure the operation of an effective control framework.
The Candidate
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A sound knowledge of current accounting practices and standards
- Private Equity or relevant asset class experience
- Thrive in a high paced environment
- Bring creative ideas, and be solutions based in your approach to work
- Recognised, relevant accountancy qualification desired
- Stakeholder engagement skills key
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal
- A competency in Microsoft Excel
- Investment Trust experience/knowledge beneficial
